Dear Steven:
The state cars were produced around 1979 - 1981. All 50 states were made.
Recollections are that quantities of around 2,500 of each state were
produced. We do not have any specific production records for these items.
The items were featured in our catalogs at that time. Hope this helps!

Subject: Re: Mantua HO state cars
Dear Russ:
Have spoken with the President of the company - the only person in
management still here from the late '70's and this is his recollection:
- Not all 50 states - as previously reported - were produced - possibly all
but 10 - 15 or so.
- The bulk of production was in fact sold to Kaybee Toys in 1981. Some
where between 100,000 and 175,000 individual cars. No idea what the
quantity breakdowns were.
- Our production records only date back to 1990 so we can't identify exactly
which states were produced.
We do have copies of our 1980 and 1981 catalogs which include pictures of 24
cars and listing of all cars. If you'd like a photo copy of these pages of
the catalogs, please reply to this message and include your postal address.
Hope this helps with your search.
